Even when life feels overwhelming, like you’re holding a million things at once, there can be moments of solace that raise your spirits. Even though fig trees doesn’t shy away from acknowledging the frustrations in life, like in the line “how do I play my cards right if I only have jokers in my stack?,” this song is ultimately hopeful and inspiring to anyone who feels like they have conflicting priorities. 

Gliding orchestral strings, layered harmonies, and self-referential lyrics about how it’s “hard to hit the drums” and strum the guitar strings all work together to make this song something special. The music video for this track is a perfect visual representation of seeking hope. With shots of uplifting sunlight and fig trees exploring nature with the help of his guitar, a peaceful feeling settles nicely over the listener.
