“LongArms“ by N.A.S.H.

“LongArms” by N.A.S.H. is an invigorating rock n’ roll song. The opening line “thank you for paying attention,” followed by the start of a huge rhythm section and riffing electric guitars, immediately grabs the listener’s attention, and doesn’t let it go until the end of the song. N.A.S.H. is made up of three brothers, and this song was inspired by the terrifying and strange struggles of having a close call with death, something lead singer and guitarist Bryan Nash experienced. Examining a topic like this in music requires a lot of vulnerability, and “LongArms” executes it beautifully.

Nash’s life-threatening experience affected his vocal chords, which makes the powerful vocal performance in “LongArms” all the more impressive. You can hear the emotion in every belted syllable, as well as the passion in every rocking rasp. This track is an inspiring representation of perseverance and gratitude. The line “thank you for being a friend to me” is a simple, yet effective acknowledgement of how important it is to have loved ones around you when you’re going through a hard time. Just knowing that there is someone there to be your friend can lighten an emotional load immensely.

Captivating guitar riffs and unrelenting drums match the determination found in the storytelling. There is an air of refusing to give up in every layer of the arrangement, and it rubs off on the listener too. If you ever need a song to reignite your belief in yourself and your abilities, “LongArms” by N.A.S.H. is there for you.
