“All In On Me” by San Demas

Following in the long tradition of English artists setting the tone for the counterculture, London-based alt rock outfit San Demas looks to add to this storied legacy. Determined to make their presence known among the community, they have aggressively given fans all they can ask for over the past few years, releasing a steady stream of music with regimented determination. With momentum on their side, they further build on their growing reputation with the release of their latest single “All In On Me.” Upbeat, flowing, and exuding an energy all of their own, the track encapsulates the essence of their sound and musical movement with every verse.

The piece begins with an eruptive burst of instrumental passion, as the percussive and string parts kick the track off with a fiery introduction that immediately sets the tone for the track. We feel the musicality grow in intensity and melodic allure as the world of the song is built around us. Vocalist Lucy Parish enters soon after, and sets the narrative tone for this work with the opening line, “It’s getting harder to try now with the odds stacked against me. I’m stuck losing my patience, just keep trying to break even.”

Unescapably motivating in its composition, while remaining metalcore-inspired without being overwhelming to the senses, the single comes across as an unashamed reflection of the deepest emotions of the artists, and reminiscent of the style of music made so popular during the golden age of Warped Tour. Having established their unique sound so clearly, fans can only wait with anticipation to see what these artists could possibly have coming next.
