Q: Was there a pivotal moment in your life when you decided to follow your path as a musician?
FANTASTIC MR MARCEL: I always had music inside of me. At some point in life we all have to make a decision: chase what you love or live to regret it. No matter what it is you love you need to push yourself outside of what is comfortable, on the other side of comfort is where the magic lives
Q: What was your favorite moment creating “Double-Edge Sword”?
FANTASTIC MR MARCEL: 3 musicians coming together as friends. The energy in the room was unmatched. We laughed, we were focused, and we were frustrated, but the whole process was amazing.
Q: My favorite part of making music is experimenting with different sounds! What is something you haven’t incorporated into your music but want to?
FANTASTIC MR MARCEL: I really love any type of horn I think the feeling of hearing that sound sends me into a trance, and I would really love to incorporate this sound into my music.
Q: Even the greatest writers can battle with creative blocks at times, how do you deal when there’s a lack of inspiration?
FANTASTIC MR MARCEL: I think creative blocks are sometimes necessary it’s a reminder to look and dig deeper I think this is because we are always changing evolving and adapting. When I do have a block I spend time distracting myself by watching movies, going for a walk, meeting friends, and all the really chill things, but in the process, I make sure I’m always very aware of signs and anything the universe or world could give me as a source of inspiration.
Q: What are you doing when you are NOT making music?
FANTASTIC MR MARCEL: I am absolutely obsessed with movies and show and live getting lost in a good movie. If not u can find me with a friend drinking, going to a show, or an exhibition. And the most exciting thing I love to do is stay in my bed all day. I don’t want to move unless I have to.
Q: Any parting words to your supporters out there?
FANTASTIC MR MARCEL: If you are listening it’s taken a whole year of making this song and going through so many processes giving up and then being pushed by minimalist and Martin Oet and if I wasn’t for them I wouldn’t have put this song out. So thank you for all the support. It means the world hopefully we have more to come in the future.
