Composer Fyremoon has long been establishing themselves as a premier voice in the imaginative musical sector. With a flushed discography already published and little left to prove, they debut their sixth full-length album “Tavern Inn The Woods.” Inspired by the greatest composers in the fantasy genre, the tracks transform your speakers into a portal to Stormwood, Middle-earth, The Iron Islands, or wherever your imagination might be. The ideal soundtrack to underscore a Dungeons and Dragons campaign, their music fosters creativity in every regard. Highlighting the record, “While The Horses Sleep” serves as a mid-track pick-me-up that lives up to all expectations.
The single begins by creating the ambiance for curiosity. A lute strums several cords over a woodwind tune for a few bars until the beating of a tambourine prompts the quickening of the tempo. Strings join the accompaniment soon after and the song takes flight. Growing to a point where the listener feels a genuine sense of inspiration to allow their feelings to overtake them in the moment.
As the piece builds, we feel our enthusiasm build with it. Staying true to the tonal inclinations of the popular music of the Middle Ages, but with modern embellishment lain throughout, we feel transported to another era, but comfortable enough in it to be the bravest version of ourselves.
Throughout the piece, the cadence of the tune remains hopeful and optimistic, facilitating beliefs that no task is insurmountable and all hopes can be accomplished with the right amount of opportunity and a little bit of luck.
