Artist Interview: “Into You” by Amy Jamie


Amy Jamie is here to take us by storm with “Into You” and she’s here for the long haul. This catchy track is a mix of r&b and pop and freshness. Amy Jamie opens up on this track in a vulnerable way, expressing how many of us listeners may feel about a crush. Listeners can’t help but imagine themselves in the same scenario when hearing this track, which feels good. “Into You” is a song that is not only perfect for Valentine’s Day but all year around. 

We had some time to talk with her about her inspirations, songwriting process and what’s next, so check it out below!

Q&A with Amy Jamie

Q: Hello! It is such a pleasure chatting with you! Your song, “Into You” is great! I really love how vulnerable you are. What was the inspiration behind the song?

JAMIE: The inspiration behind into you was my love life I’ve always struggled with liking someone more then they like me.

Q: What or who inspired you to start your music career?

JAMIE: My inner child inspired me to start my music career. Everything I do is to heal my inner child.

Q: Where do you gain inspiration to start a new song?

JAMIE: I gain inspiration from past or current experiences that happen in my life, especially my love life.

Q: What is your songwriting ritual like?

JAMIE: My songwriting ritual is that I either have to write in a dim light setting or outside in the car.

Q: What song has been the most difficult for you to write?

JAMIE: The song that’s been the most difficult for me to write is my unreleased track titled “home is where the heart is”, that will be out in June.

Q:  Who are your top three favorite artists/bands?

JAMIE: My top 3 artists are Mariah Carey, Selena Quintinilla, and Lauryn Hill.

Q: Where do you see yourself in five years?

JAMIE: I see myself in 5 years living the life of my dreams and being able to do music and entrepreneurship full time. Being delusional gets you places!

Q: It’s been so great chatting with you! Can you tell your fans what’s next for your music career?

JAMIE: The next thing that’s in my career is an EP mid June and an album in September!
