If you haven’t heard of upcoming modern folk artist, Anna Josephine, you soon will. The songstress has released her new single “Care At All” which is a fresh wound that Josephine paints, allowing both the good and bad to be on full display. She prides herself on her emotionally raw and honest lyrics.
Her harmonies and melodies are addictingly memorable, with the listener being able to sing along to the hooky chorus only after a listen or two. It is an overall melancholy track, talking about watching a relationship falling apart: “you withdraw / but somehow I’m still trying / hanging on to every silver lining / wanna scream but we exist in silence.” Her writing is on par with rising artists in her genre like Noah Kahan and Jensen McRae.
