Rose Rutledge has given us “Own World” as her first vocal debut, and it’s a pleasing mixture of so many of her talents combined. From the vocals, to the flutes, Rose shows that she can wear many hats, including having a natural knack for musical harmonies.
“Own World” has an eerie feeling, the flutes contribute well to the sounds of darkness and even in the beginning of the track, we can hear the song start as innocent, then develop into something more sinister.
Towards the middle of the song, we hear the hymns go deep and become more warped, and it’s an addictive sound, especially for those who are wanting to hear a new sound and something that is different and captivating.
Although the cover art for this single is simplistic, with a light blue polka-dot sky, power lines and birds flying, we can’t help but wonder if there is something else lurking in the dark.
At the bottom of the cover art we see what could be sticks rising up, it could be power lines at a distance, or it could be something else that doesn’t want to be seen and this could be a reference to upcoming sounds from Rose.
In conclusion, if you’ve been on the lookout for new music, sounds that you didn’t even know sounded so good together, look no further! Make sure you follow Rose to find out more about her and her new music, and when she will be releasing more.
