“Heat” by Galloway

North Carolina-based indie-pop-alternative band Galloway brazenly surpassed theirs and most people’s comfort zones with their recent track, “Heat,” a song (most may find impertinent) about feeling remorseful yet impenitent about hooking up with a friend’s ex.

Yikes!

Nevertheless, it’s a musical triumph! With precise percussion, rhythmic bass lines, and funky and fierce guitar fragments, “Heat” swiftly becomes an irresistible track with lyrics that perfectly capture the inner turmoil of hooking up with a friend’s ex—astounding!

“No regrets, I’ll put me first / Some regret ’cause, God, I’m the worst / But I’m kissing and I’m telling ’cause I’m crazy,” lyrics in the second verse read. Not only do the lyrics complement the theme, but also the instrumental dynamics in the verses and choruses. The stripped instrumentals in the verses correlate with the remorseful side, while the choruses’ potent instrumental presence correlates with the defiance side.

Galloway is a powerhouse of musical talent with Lawson Galloway (vocals), Robert Redfield (guitar), Travis Hayes (guitar/keys), Nick Williams (bass/keys), and Daniel Crump (drums). If you love what you hear, add “Heat” to your playlist and follow the band on their socials!
