“Winter Winds” by Finch Faux

The third single from Melbourne based songwriter Finch Faux is a culmination of strong lyricism and production marred with an addictive drum and synth combo.

Produced by Tobias Priddle, the track contains all the classic qualities of a Finch Faux track with gorgeous harmonies and clever instrumentation. ‘Winter Winds’ was written in her Melbourne apartment one afternoon in the winter of 2018. “I suppose I wrote it about the attempt we probably all make to remain humble yet assertive in this ever-changing world” Finch Faux explains, “For me, maintaining that balance is wildly difficult.”

Although she has been writing since the age of twelve, her upcoming LP, Flounderbound, will be her first official release. This 10-track offering is rich with modern instrumentation, a beguiling backdrop to Finch Faux’s seductive investigations of identity and facade. Recorded over the last two years, Flounderbound evokes strong female voices of the past and present, while standing firmly as its own piece.

Finch Faux has a unique ability to make her songs feel like a conversation with an old friend. Emotive and endlessly intriguing, her music is completely disarming when you give yourself too its ethereal power. Tight in structure and sound but free in its essence and musicality, “Winter Winds” looks at identity with reverence and grace. Not only this but it cements the ability of the Australian artist.

With her debut album ‘Flounderbound’ on the way, there’s no better time than now to dive into Finch Fuax’s discography. Stream her brilliant new track “Winter Winds” now!
