When Maja Laura said “Feldman’s Voicing Resonance” was about one’s desire to disappear, I felt that in my core. I have often wondered what it would be like to not cease to exist, but rather to just go away and never have to deal with the pains of reality again. The melancholic voice in my head when those thoughts arise is similar to the tone Maja Laura’s voice takes on in this striking single that presents the depths of human despair.
At times “Feldman’s Voicing Resonance” can be haunting. It is definitely a song you do not want to put on at a party. It was not meant for celebration, but rather a personal reflection. It is the type of song you put in when deep in thought because as demure as it can feel, it is also comforting to know you are not alone in those feelings. It is like a companion in many ways, aiding you through a moment with audible reassurance. Aside from her mesmerizing vocals, Maja Laura also adds layers to this piece with pristine piano playing that gives this track an avant-garde cherry on top of this song that I am sure many will be able to find a sense of solace in.
“Feldman’s Voicing Resonance” was Maja Laura’s 2021 debut and a strong one at that. Since then the Polish pianist has released another, ‘Lavender Brown.” To hear both, make sure to check out Maja Laura on all major music and streaming platforms today.
