Dan Mórda has released his debut single “Out My Mind” and this dizzying track will spin you around a wheel of fun and darkness. “Out My Mind” is the go-to track for those wanting the garage-band sound again, this is for those feeling a lot of emotions, all at once.
Dan Mórda and long-time friend/producer Damien Fegan (Chasing Felix) have brought listeners 4:07 of freedom and origniality, with “Out My Mind” taking the lead in a genre mixed with indie rock, psychedelia and lofi-pop.
“Out My Mind” carries a tone that could be summed up as looking for a way (or ways) to escape, and it’s captivating to hear how certain parts of the song can have a rollercoaster effect. This echo-y track has a 70’s spirit, grain, and effect as it shifts towards pushing others away and potentially pulling them close.
Around 1:50 listeners feel a downward drift in tonality, as we are tugged forwards.
“Save me-” Dan frequents on the track as the instruments continue to reposition from high to low and with lines like “Can’t even keep up with my own tongue, baby” Mórda lets listeners in on how the songs subject could have so much going on, it’s hard to keep track.
Dan Mórda (Also known as Dan Murphy) is from Tallaght South-West Dublin and has “decided to give [his] music a serious push.” Mórda describes his music as “taking a slightly more psychedelic approach to modern alt/indie music.” With this dreamy pop sound and much more to say, we are sure to see future projects by Dan Mórda continue to succeed.
