“Lights of Tokyo” by Katanak

Katanak is back again with “Lights of Tokyo” and it has easily become our favorites with the very first listen. This fast paced and upbeat track is quick with charm and excitement, and it’s one you don’t want to miss.

Katanak spoke to us about the track as well as the meaning behind its name, “[This song] was written after my friend told me the story of meeting someone out one night in Tokyo. I wanted to convey that wow moment when you lock eyes with someone, and you just click.”

And we couldn’t agree more, those of us who are drawn to this track love, the idea of love at first sight and having that slow motion instant that can make us feel like we are the only two people in the room. “Lights of Tokyo” sums that emotion up so well, only in 3:01.

“We locked eyes and I realized/ I’ve got nothing left inside/ got nothing left to hide.” We love how open and honest Katanak’s lyrics are and how this is so close to what we want to experience!

Make sure you check out Katanak and follow his socials, it looks like he has so many awesome projects coming up and some great shows to look forward to. He even mentions, “I’m heading out on an east coast tour of Australia promoting ‘Lights of Tokyo’ in June/ July.”

Our personal favorite line that makes our heartache: “And I couldn’t speak a word/ but that doesn’t matter/ cause when I looked at her/ my heart felt fluent/ fluent”
