Multi-dimensional musician Molombo’s new song, “StarStruck,” is an electrifying blend of cultural influences and unique sounds. The Congolese-American artist began his musical journey in 2020 and has been creating alluring music ever since. “StarStruck,” like Molombo’s past art, is a masterful mix of differing instruments, including psychedelic guitar and synths, which creates an alternative rock atmosphere, while his rap verses add a hip-hop feel. Together, these unique elements blend flawlessly within “StarStruck,” creating a powerful and epic song.
The track opens with a melodic tune played by the electric guitar, while euphoric sounds are played in the background. Vocals arrive, which are heard softly singing and humming over the calming instrumental. The once quiet instrumental becomes more robust as the beat drops– Molombo’s rap verse arrives, which includes both witty yet inspiring comments on modern society. Inspired by contemporary struggles marginalized communities face, the lyrics carry a powerful message. Bob Dylan’s “Only a Pawn in Their Game” inspires the track, which highlights the same sentiment.
Just as genre and culture-fusing “StarStruck” is, so is the band itself, which features a Harlem guitarist, a Nigerian pianist and choir, and a Cameroonian vocal chanter. This unique blend of cultural backgrounds creates an intriguing musical experience, engaging listeners in a cultural fusion that is both unique and captivating.
“StarStruck” is available on major music streaming platforms today (July 31st). Take a listen now!
