“Always” by Formoe

With an experimental sound and a clear vision, Norwegian musician and producer Formoe has released his new single “Always,” available on all streaming platforms. While a solo passion project, Formoe has multiple collaborators he connects with to bring his dramatic visions to life.

“Always” was co-produced by Formoe alongside Roar Farstad and Alf-Emil Eik, a collaborator of both A-ha and Secret Garden, the production really enhances the track. The vocalist on this track is June Baltzersen has an extensive musical theater background, and that lends to the storytelling of the track. It gives it a larger than life feeling that the listener can really grasp on to.

Production wise, they allow Baltzersen’s voice to take center stage in the verses, and then use her voice as an instrument in the chorus. She blends into a magnificent choir of harmonies, and it is such a smart way to use that range. Being a talented producer creating a pop fusion track does not mean it needs to be overly flashy, this song uses the perfect about of production where it never feels crowded. It has space to be a big energetic piece.

Lyrically, Formoe talks about his inspiration, he shares, “’Always’ is a catchy pop song that depicts the time after a breakup. Here, I aim to convey the emptiness, sorrow, and longing one can feel when something ends.”

Overall, the song is captivating and catchy, capturing its own kind of Disney princess magic. If you have not explored the world of Formoe, be sure to check out his music – he is always collaborating with amazing talent!
