London-based Rock group The Utopiates are hot off their debut album, “The Sun Also Rises,” where they showcased their exhilarating, nostalgic yet contemporary sound. Their new single, “Neighbourhood,” is another testament to their hard work creating music. The groovy guitar riffs, lead singer Dan’s unique singing cadence, and the track’s upbeat nature make The Utopiates a band to look out for.
The Utopiates’ music, somewhat reminiscent of bands like old-school U2 or Bruce Springsteen, portrays a wistful feeling due to the timeless nature of their music. However, what sets them apart is their unique blend of thrilling instruments, consisting of guitars, 80s-esque keyboards, and synths. “Neighbourhood” uses its striking sound to create the undeniable excitement portrayed in their music.
“Neighbourhood” opens up with a compelling guitar-heavy instrumental, immediately drawing in the listener. As the song continues, the instrumental becomes more intense while keeping a steady excitement that never dulls.
As surprising as it may sound, The Utopiates were only recently formed in January 2021 during COVID-19. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, the band quickly gained momentum. Last year, they were signed to v2 and were anointed the band to watch by cult indie promoter This Feeling. This was followed by a sold-out summer tour and the completion of their debut album, “The Sun Also Rises.” Now, with their latest single, “Neighbourhood,” they are ending 2024 on a high note and starting 2025 strong.
“Neighbourhood” is available now, wherever you stream music.
