Unique instrumentation, a pumping beat, and a satisfying ebb and flow make “Nomad” by ADHD a captivating and one of a kind track. Recorded in ADHD’s own studio, this band effortlessly displays their distinctive style with the use of instruments that you don’t hear in most contemporary songs. These instruments move in a compelling manner, offering catchy rhythms and modern arrangements in a fresh way.

The melody heard in the opening of the song is repeated throughout the song, but the variations on which instrument is performing, or what is moving around in the arrangement behind the main melody, ensure that the song never gets too repetitive or boring. In fact, the rise and fall of energy, and subtle shifts in the arrangement throughout the song, such as adding sweeping synths in some sections while keeping other moments drier and driven primarily by the drums, is one of the most intriguing parts of the song. Though this song is an instrumental track, the absence of lyrics does not equal an absence of storytelling. From the bouncy melodies, to the floating atmosphere, to the heartbeat of the drums, everything works to create an emotional and fluid soundscape that the listener can feel transported in.

ADHD is based in Los Angeles, but their music sounds other worldly. The arrangement of “Nomad” is irreplicable, and the eclectic instrumentation is unlikely to be found in many other mainstream songs. The abstract journey of the song welcomes the listener into “Nomad,” encouraging them to wander through the sonics like a nomad themself.
