“Good To You” by Jason Patel

There was not a day during my adolescence that I did not rush home from school to watch MTV. Emerging myself in all things pop, my heart overflowed with delightful tunes in the late ‘90s and early ‘00s gave me life, which is why “Good To You” by Jason Patel instantly grabbed my attention. A pop track layered with stylish R&B and boy band hooks, it’s a song that will have fans of all ages tuning in.

Like myself, Jason Patel also grew up appreciating the beauty of ‘90s and ‘00s music. However, one thing he loved that I never got to experience was Bollywood movies. Lavish sets with romance strewn about, all of that, and then some went into creating the style Jason Patel would later go on to share with the world via song. He’s impressed many with his previous releases which include 2019’s “Invisible,” and “In My Heart,” which dropped right before “Good To You.” It’s clear from the material available that at the core of Jason Patel’s craft is a heart that beats in tune with the emotional adventures of the human heart.

Reminiscent of when Justin Bieber grew up and delivered real “Purpose,” Jason Patel wonderfully balances the sultry ways of R&B and the catchiness that is ingrained in pop music. A gift not many can holster, but this London-based artist seems to have a hold on just that. With many years ahead of him, it will be interesting to see how his sound continues to develop. And hey, if MTV ever returns to playing music – I’m sure some kid will rush home to watch Jason Patel videos all afternoon.

“Good To You” is available now on all major music and streaming sites.
