Artist Interview: “Easy Go” by Driver 45

Q: Hey Driver 45, we love your songs and are excited to have you on Rising Artists. Briefly introduce yourself and the bandmates and what role each member plays.

DRIVER 45: We’re glad you’ll have us! Brad Orok is the lead singer and guitar player, Ian Michaels is on the drums and back-up vox and John Denualt is on the bass and back-up vox. We are a rock band based out of Los Angeles.

Q: Do you write your own songs or is there a collaborator that the band enjoys working with consistency?

DRIVER 45: Brad writes the songs and presents them to the band who fills in their part with Ian on the drums and John on the bass to make them come alive.

Q: How would you describe your music in your own words?

DRIVER 45: I would stay it’s garage rock meets grunge with a little blues based indie-ness.

Q: Do you have any live performances we can catch you at soon?

DRIVER 45: We play regularly at the Viper room and Rainbow room in Hollywood when there’s no pandemic. Follow our social driver45band media for upcoming shows in SoCal area.

Q: Your rock style is an exciting sound that we love! Who are some of your inspirations?

DRIVER 45: Geeze, a lot! For Brad it’s Kurt Cobain, Bradley Nowell, John Mayer on songwriting/frontman stuff, Eric Clapton, Lindsey Buckingham, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan on guitar stuff, Stone Temple Pilots and other 90s rock pop, grunge bands, Ian it’s Neil Peart from Rush and lotta 70s/80s heavy rock, prog, metal bands like Black Sabbath, AC/DC, Judas Priest, and for John I think it’s funk/rock/prog stuff and the early 80s punk scene in LA which he was apart of.

Q: What can we expect from you next?

DRIVER 45: Live shows! come see us! And hopes to play a Festival, that’s a goal for us as a band as of now.
