Q: We here at Rising Artists love the sound of your newest single “Lost On You”, what inspired the songwriting behind it?
THE HILDER: Thank you, we are glad that you like it. The song was inspired from a few different things but the main inspiration was drawn from the modern day relationship and the challenges that come along with them.
Q: We love that you’re inspired by Arctic Monkeys and can definitely hear the influence in your single! What first got you into music?
THE HILDER: We were all brought up on music and have all shared the same passion for it. Having all been in previous bands before we all have valuable experience already within the music scene. We ended up forming The Hilder after we realised that we could create something unique as a band.
Q: Do you write your own songs or is there a collaborator that you enjoy working with consistency?
THE HILDER: Yes we write our own songs although we don’t have a specific way of writing. Sometimes Matty will bring a complete song or he may come up with an idea and Him and Sam will get together to unravel it and when it reaches the practice room we all have our own ideas to add to it.
Q: What are some of your challenges you come across as a band?
THE HILDER: The biggest challenge so for came when we realised that it’s not all just about writing music anymore. We realised that we have to have more of a business mind and try to understand how to get our music heard by the right audience. Getting our single accepted on to the correct playlists is a big challenge which we are hoping to overcome. Technology has massively impacted us as a band as it has allowed us to connect and release our single to the exact people that we wanted to.
Q: Do you have any live performances we can catch you at soon?
THE HILDER: We don’t have anything at the moment. Our plan is to get a few releases under our belt to gain a bit of momentum and to make sure that people know some of our songs first before we get out on the road.
Q: What is coming next for you?
THE HILDER: We are back in the studio on 9th September and we should have our next single in your ears by early October.
