With clubs opening back up, a hip-hop song to dance to is exactly what the world needs. Look no further: 2am’s Ricky’s intoxicating new single “Whatchu On” ft. CeCe Peniston is a genre-bending track that has elements of hip-hop, house, and even some 80s pop. Peniston’s electrifying and soulful voice is featured to add a neo-soul vibe to the song as well, all melding flawlessly to deliver this modern house dance song to spice up any party playlist this fall.

2am Ricky is an up-and-coming artist who’s paving his way to the big times, being nominated for Best Young Artist at the SCM Awards as well as having roles on HereTV’s “Blackville”. “Whatchu On” landed a #1 spot on the LGBT urban charts and remained on the charts for 10 weeks. This ambitious Recording Artist, Actor, and Model from Winston-Salem, North Carolina is also an advocate for the LGBT community and is a proud and open transgender rapper.

“Whatchu On” opens up with an addictive instrumental, reminiscent of neo-soul and early 90s R&B. The song then changes up to a hip hop track with 2am Ricky’s impeccable flow. His fast-paced flow fuses perfectly well with the modern house production. All topping it off is CeCe Peniston’s iconic and dreamy soprano-toned voice, working beautifully with Ricky’s lower-toned voice. “Whatchu On” is truly a smoothie and upbeat track that will get anyone ready to dance.

Be on the lookout for 2am Ricky, as “Whatchu On” is currently on all streaming platforms and his upcoming album “Brown Boy” is just around the corner!
