Dachelle is a singer/songwriter from Harlem, NY. She started making music in her college dorm room in 2019 and shortly after released her first single in the fall of 2019. Her newest single “Wanna Be” is truly inspired by the 90’s Pop and R&B music that Dachelle grew up listening to, specifically TLC, Brandy and The Spice Girls.

Her latest single “Wanna Be” was primarily conceived in her mom’s basement, this summer she connected with producer Kaiyi. They re-recorded the main vocals at Cutting Room Studios in New York and the rest of the vocals in a Columbia University classroom at 1 AM. The song was mixed and mastered by Kaiyi as well.

“Wanna Be” is a modern queer love story, Dachelle wrote the song about her girlfriend when she decided she wanted to commit to her. “Wanna Be” describes the scary yet fun side of love, the smile the comes across your face despite the fear. Mentally making a commitment to someone and verbally making a commitment are to major terrifying milestones in a relationship and it will also be one of the best decisions you’ve made.

Dachelle sings the beautiful story of how much you want to give to your partner and how great it will be once you open up and let your heart take over. “Wanna Be” is released on Spotify for all your listening pleasure, you will quickly fall in love with this song and it will be added to any old skool and newer playlists you have. Dachelle is bringing the 90s back with “Wanna Be”.
