“Home” by Jeff Michael feat. Friendship Cat

If you didn’t take some sort of class during the first year of the pandemic, did you even really live through it? Me? I did four weeks of baking. Jeff Michael? He decided to strengthen his musical chops by enrolling in a songwriting class. There he met Friendship Cat. They bonded not only over the music but also their east coast roots. Not just because it was in her name, but a friendship naturally occurred and from that came “Home.”

Jeff Michael and Friendship Cat deliver a heartfelt folksy performance about a concept many of us probably didn’t give much thought to until March 2020 kickstarted a whirlwind of events, and that’s the comfort and safety of home. While our things may be in one place, our hearts could be in another. Many found themselves in those situations with travel bans, at-home orders in place, and the overall fear of visiting loved ones taking a simple Saturday at a relative’s off the table. While I adore the concept of “Home” as I was away from my mom’s for over a year, I have to say Jeff Michael and Friendship Cat’s chemistry take this song to new heights.

I’ve always been a sucker for a great pairing. That unification of two artists seamlessly creates a song where one doesn’t outshine the other and there is harmony all around. To hear it for yourself, you can feel all warm and cozy inside by checking out “Home,” out now on all major music and streaming sites.
