Laurel Canyon is synonymous in the music realm and the folk-inspired wave that came from the ‘60s and ‘70s. To be able to set foot there during that time would be a dream for many, but until time travel is a viable option, we can sit back and listen to Chucky Tradio Co. Last December Chucky Tradio Co dropped a self-titled debut that promises to place you right in the heart of Laurel Canyon, and if you need proof, listen to the latest single from that release, “Peace With The Devil.”
On top of giving those Laurel Canyon vibes, “Peace With The Devil” was highly cinematic. Rightfully compared to celebrated series like ‘Breaking Bad’ and ‘Yellowstone,’ this track painted a clear picture of the tale of an outlaw, or at least someone who lived on the outside of the expected. All of that said, there was something very modern about this track that made my mind also wander to current soundtracks in Quentin Tarantino movies because musically, this song has a lot of sensual movement to the way it’s delivered.
“Peace With The Devil” is the third single from ‘Chucky Trading Co.’ It followed the more folk-leaning “Sweet & Sour” and the story-driven “Honey Bee.” Inspired by a time and place, Chucky Trading Co was able to bring the magic of Laurel Canyon to the here and now with a self-titled debut that shines a light on sound songwriting and great folk-rock. To hear more including “Peace With The Devil,” make sure to check out ‘Chucky Trading Co,’ out now on all major music and streaming platforms.
