Artist Interview: “Still Thinking ‘Bout You” by William Wassinger

Q:  I love the influences in “Still Thinking ‘Bout You.” What was the inspiration behind the song?

William Wassinger: This song is about the one that got away. A feeling of longing for someone and recreating the love that you once felt for another person.

Q: What did you enjoy most about making this “Still Thinking ‘Bout You”?

Wassinger: I really enjoyed writing it, because it had these funny chords and a nice lyrical theme. But my favourite thing was when we recorded it and we had the saxophone guy come over in the studio 🙂 I had made the entire solo with my mouth and just sung him the notes that I wanted him to do on the saxophone.

Q: Who would you most like to collaborate with, if it could be anyone in the world?

Wassinger: My absolute dream scenario would be me and Harry Styles on the same track, with FINNEAS as the producer. I mean, that collaboration would solve all the puzzles in my life 😉

Q: In your own words, how would you describe the music that you typically create?

Wassinger: Heartfelt, honest and authentic. I would describe my music as commercial singer-songwriter and easy-listening, but with a lot of depth. So unlike a lot of commercial music, it can be catchy and all that, but still has a story and wants you to feel something.

Q: What projects are currently in the works?

Wassinger: Right now my producer and I are moving to the US for three months to start writing and recording something for the next album, as well as making some videos and get to know more people in the industry.

Q: Any parting words to your fans?

Wassinger: Go check out my debut album “In The Middle Of It All”. It’s my manifest – A life biography, where every single song is inspired by true stories.

The album that I’ve been working on for the past 2 years has got everything from melancholy, soulful ballads to upbeat dancing tunes and is all part of the story that culminates in the last song with the same name as the album.
