Artist Interview: “Harder On Me” by Jasmine Alkouri

Q: I love your vocal delivery on “Harder on Me.” What was the inspiration behind the song?

Jasmine Alkouri: That’s nice to hear, because I took years of vocal lessons! I had been dating my boyfriend at the time and I felt as though he wasn’t putting in the same effort into our relationship that he was with work. I know work can be time consuming, but relationships need care as well. I wrote the song based on this idea that I want a hard working man who works even harder on our relationship.

Q: What did you enjoy most about making this track?

Alkouri: Working with Matt Koch was the best. He took my vision and ran with it. We worked as servers nearly 9 years ago so we have a good history already. Matt is a genius when it comes to music, but he’s also a really funny dude to work with.

Q: Who would you most like to collaborate with, if it could be anyone in the world?

Alkouri: I feel like Morgan Wallen and I will make a fire song in the future. I see a lot of similarities with us already.

Q: In your own words, how would you describe the music that you typically create?

Alkouri: Funky, country-inspired, anthem, getup and dance music!

Q:What projects are currently in the works?

Alkouri: Logan Garrett, a very popular DJ in Nashville, just released a remix of my song “Harder On Me” on soundcloud. Check it out Here! Redfoo is also working on a remix and my second song now.

Q: Any parting words to your fans?

Alkouri: Connect with me @jasminealkouri on instagram! The fans are the most important part of any music experience.

Love,

The girl with the space buns
