“For You” by feeble, AKA Stefan Ekenberg, is a lovely song with soft, yet cinematic, instrumentation. The track starts quiet and intimate, gradually growing with crashing drums and intense vocals, which mirrors the progression of the narrator’s love growing more and more dedicated. This song is all about doing anything for the person you love, no matter the reluctance that comes with having to face hardship.
“Let’s cross that bridge when we come to it.” This line shows up in the chorus, and is repeated several times throughout the song. It displays that key theme of trying to be present with the person you love, even when there is a lot of background noise creeping in. Relationships are frightening, and there is a natural instinct to question where your future together is heading. Ekenberg wants to live in the moment and not create unnecessary problems. It is a good mentality to have, even though it can be difficult to stick with sometimes.
Towards the end of the song, Ekenberg’s vocals increase in volume and grit, creating a really emotional and impactful atmosphere. It is clear how committed he is to this love, and how desperate he is to keep it peaceful and untouched by the problems of reality. “I’ve been awake for days now, I’ve been fighting.” Life can be exhausting, but it is all worth it for Ekenberg and his love.
