“On the road” by Cassady Southern

Sydney, Australia’s Cassady Southern’s jangly, upbeat new track, “On the road,” feels like a blast from the past in the best way possible. Old-school guitar solos, an irresistible melody, and Cassady’s thrilling vocals make for a fun country tune. The song is perfect for blasting at country clubs, parties, or driving with the windows down; no matter how you listen, “On the road” is a fun-loving track for everyone involved.

“On the road” is Cassady’s first single of 2024, and she starts strong with the very first note. Within the first few seconds, the bluegrass/americana genre is cemented, yet Cassady’s vocals bring a unique sound to the country music scene. She is a true storyteller with all of her music, and it continues with “On the road,” which tells the story of a wandering musician on the never-ending road to nowhere.

“On the road”’s second half features an uplifting guitar solo that makes it impossible not to dance along to. It has such a nostalgic country feel, reminiscent of old-timers like Dolly Parton or Reba McEntire, quickly making it a modern country classic. At the same time, Cassady brings her distinctive sound that is like nothing out today. The track would also be a perfect accompaniment for line dancing and fun nights out with friends.

“On the road” was recorded at Studios 301 in Sydney, Australia. The track is played by the band Cassady Southern and the Party, consisting of Rob Drummond on lead guitar, JD on drums, John Montgomery on bass and backing vocals, and Dai Nettle on keys, harmonica, and backing vocals.
