Los Angeles-based decorated producer and progressive house champion, Nexxus 604, has spent their best years traveling the world and bringing their music to the masses wherever the dancefloor may be. With a humbling resume of stages they have played in front of validating their musical intuition, their career has grown throughout the years, and their musical proclivities alongside it. Their latest single “Awakening” proves to be a crown jewel in their impressive repertoire as they show just how transformative of an experience EDM can be. Inspired by their recent experience participating in the legendary festivities and spiritual experience of burning man, the single takes listeners on a journey of incredible proportions as it inspires elation with every listen.
The piece begins with an ominous buildup while we feel the world of the song being built around us as every layer is added to the tune. Heavy elements of the glitch genre pepper the introductory stanza as we feel ourselves sinking deeper and deeper into the melody. As the music evolves, the tempo hastens and we feel a sense of urgency to move along to the beat.
A sense of psychedelic wimsey motivates the single both in the production values and overall direction of the rhythm.
