The Chris Ruben Band’s new single, “TROUBLE,” is an introspective rock track with raw emotion flooding through. Not only are the lyrics vulnerable and vibrant, but the instrumental alone, consisting of a guitar, drum, and keyboard-driven backdrop, add a pulling-at-the-heartstrings vibe without words.
“TROUBLE” has a deep, personal tone spread throughout due to lead vocalist Chris Ruben’s raspy, cry-like vocals. The song is about someone who once promised never to give up, but now wants to let go due to failures, and chasing a dream that never came true. This overpowering feeling of failure and sadness is something that everyone can relate to. The lyrics, “I don’t know how long I’ve got” and “It’s a goddamn shame how you know me how you know we right now; you’re too late, give me one good reason why I shouldn’t pull the trigger right now,” evoke a sense of vulnerability, showcasing these dark, often not talked about thoughts.
The Chris Ruben Band, a group deeply rooted in the vibrant music scene of Long Island, consists of lead vocalist Chris Ruben (who also plays guitar), Frank Iovine (sax/keyboard), Brendan Allan (bass guitar), Nick Marino (telecaster), Eugene Iovine (keyboards/strings), and Russ Miller on drums. The group has been performing together since early 2015, showcasing their unique sound and style that reflects their hometown’s musical heritage.
“TROUBLE” was recorded at Westfall Studios in Farmingdale, New York, and produced by Anthony Lopardo and Ray Marte. “TROUBLE” is just a taste of their upcoming 2024 album, “An Incredible Forever.” Take a listen now!
