KOBURG has released a new powerful series of different versions of “This Game Called Love”. Not only have they brought a masterpiece once, but twice, with a twisted and transcendent version. Both versions give the same taste of the song but use production choices that make them feel different enough to provide a contrast of emotions for the listener.
“This Game Called Love” given to us in the twisted version has powerful values in the form of instrumentals and high volume guitar solos. This song is definitely more rough cut and is intentionally supposed to bring out the anger in the listener and understanding of what KOBURG was feeling when she wrote it.
“This Game Called Love” as the transcendent version is more delicate and delivers a different vibe through its production choices. It is a lighter listen and gives the song a new meaning that is more heart breaking than angry.
I truly loved the connection of the two versions and how different each one made the listener feel. This transition and playfulness with the same song is what makes KOBURG such a powerhouse singer. She is not afraid to try out new norms for her songs and loves tasking risks. Hear it for yourself.
