“Under Cover” by Me & Melancholy

Me & Melancholy really presents such an eclectic and diverse range of beats with their newest record. “Under Cover” has an eery and mysterious feel to it and it delivers this same feeling into each song. The songs really play with electronica personas and dynamic beat work. The emotion behind the instrumentals is extremely important when listening.

“The sun and the rainfall” is a perfect starter song for this record. It paints the picture of the circle of life and how change is apparent no matter what. The harmonic relevance of the vocals works well with gathering the storytelling for the audience. This song serves as a perfect contrast for the record’s next song, “3e Sexe”.

My favorite off the record is “This Modern Love”. It almost reminds me of a computer love story, using electronic beats to communicate the feeling. This is a wonderful cover of a well known song by Bloc Party and I loved the addition of it in the midst of the other songs.

“Lovesong” is the perfect closer for this record. It includes more personal and deeper vocals to gather the feeling. The way Me & Melancholy played around with yet another cover was brilliant and showcased their insanely talented production work.
