Q: ‘For the Vibe’ has a great feel to it, what was the process in creating it?
Appolo: When I got the beat from our producer Silent Soundz, it just felt like such a feel-good beat that you can party to and that’s exactly the type of song I wanted to create.
It was at this point that my brother in music and fellow Decked Music artist K-Louw had heard the hook I laid down and he wrote a verse for the song.
Q: I listened to ‘Over You’ and ‘Not on My Level’ and we need more music from you! Do you have plans for making an album or EP in the future?
Appolo: Definitely in the near future. Shout out to you for listening to me earlier work. Not On My level was part of a free mix tape we did and offered to people when the Covid-19 Virus first came about. The mix tape features all 3 Decked Music artists, Myself, K-Louw(RotnXO) and Lakes which we released on Dat Piff and Soundcloud called “Before All Else”. We form part of a new upcoming label(Decked Music) and we have released an EP “The Origin” and a single in February called Only One featuring Myself and Lakes.
Q: What has been your favorite memory in creating ‘For the Vibe’?
Appolo: It would have to be the feeling of good vibes. I create different songs and put a lot of emotion in my music, my feelings in a song. For The Vibe was just all about good vibes and we had a fun studio session.
Q: ‘For the Vibe’ features K-LOUW, how did that collaboration come to be?
Appolo:
K-Louw(also goes by RotnXO) and myself being label mates and close friends work very well together. We are together for most studio sessions.
We have a lot more music together and have talked about a joint Album outside of our solo projects
Q: In one word, how would you describe yourself as an artist?
Appolo: Versatile. Yes I am a rapper but I do also sing as showcased in numerous songs like “Over You” and “Only One”
Q: When you’re not working on music, what do you like to do?
Appolo: I am very family oriented, so when I am not in the studio, I am spending time with family.
