“Wolfsbane” by Love Ghost

“Breath in, breath out, Don’t become what hurt you, It stays forever, Just like a tattoo.” Those words will repeat in your head for hours. Love Ghost is back with another hit “Wolfsbane” with special guest, Rico Nasty. Love Ghosts mix between rock and hip hop makes them Lil Peeps and Nirvanas ghost child. The LA quintet—Finnegan Bell (lead vocals, guitar), Ryan Stevens (bass), Daniel Alcala (guitar, engineer), Samson Young (drum), and Cory Batchler [keys, engineer) are a combination of ethereal grunge and lo-fi bedroom hip-hop highlighted by emotional delivery and airy hooks. The Los Angeles based Alt Rock band Love Ghost teamed up with Mike Summers for the production of “Wolfsbane”.

“Wolfsbane” is a song about releasing the beast within, when someone tries to take you down. It’s about being yourself, and not giving a fuck what people say about you. – Rico Nasty.

The pandemic has left us with some major pent up anger and resentment towards life. “Wolfsbane” allows you to let it all out, to be yourself and not care what anyone thinks about your reaction. Fuck anyone who has anything to say about how YOU feel. The boys of Love Ghost and Rico Nasty encourage you to let go of whatever is holding you back. “Wolfsbane” wants to make you cry while simultaneously head banging. “So misunderstood, wanna scream through my eyes” is the perfect description for the frustration tears that happen occasionally.

With hundreds of thousand of listens on multiple songs, it’s clear that Love Ghost is a favorite amongst many. Having a musical outlet for your emotions is important, letting out sadness is key but also so is letting out your anger. Love Ghost gives you the safe space you need to do both while also teaching you an important lesson of letting go. You will fall in love with Love Ghost no matter what song you hear from them.

“There’s blood on my hands
I wish you could understand
Scared of what’s inside of me
So lock me up and lose the key
There’s something in my head you probably wouldn’t wanna see
Hanging by a thread, but it could never set me free
Way too far gone, you can’t save me”
