“Slide” by Weak Tyrant

Weak Tyrant is a five-piece band from Bern, Switzerland that consists of Flo (vocals and guitar), Ädu (guitar), Chanti (drums and vocals), Gionsi (bass), and Remo (guitar). They are adding a fresh sound to the indie rock scene with their first single “Slide”. According to the group “Slide” is about the search for meaning, our origins and our destinies.

Weak Tyrant has no plans of slowing down after releasing their first single, the group is dropping an EP “To Be Pure” on October 22, 2021. They described the four songs as being stylistically located somewhere between emo-pop-punk, indie rock and post-hardcore. “Slide” was produced by guitarist Remo Häberli and Weak Tyrant. It was also recorded, mixed and mastered by Remo Häberli at Hidden Stash Tonstudio

Chanti kicks off “Slide” with a welcoming drum intro, and shortly after the rest of Weak Tyrant joins and Flo brings you fully in with the vocals. The song is new to you and yet it has a very nostalgic feel to it. “Slide” embodies the emo/pop punk sound, and when it reaches the breakdown, you can hear the post-hardcore sound that Weak Tyrant spoke about.

When listening to “Slide” by Weak Tyrant it almost feels like you drift off into an emotional safe space, the group opens up with lyrics such as “empty thoughts and bleeding ashes, a bag full of nothing I carry on”. While you may feel like you do not have anything, it is important to keep going. Don’t give up on yourself. Weak Tryant is joining the scene with a new sound and inspirational lyrics. It won’t be long before you’re hooked.

“We would like to thank everyone who was part of the making of this record. A special thanks to Lukas Bleuer from Klang Wang Records.” – Weak Tyrant
