The one man band The NGHBRS consists of Ryan Venezia, the multi-talented singer, songwriter, and producer. His latest track “Important” is an emotional pop-ballad about a relationship. In the track, Venezia realizes how much he loves that person, but notices that maybe he’s not as important to that person as he thought he was. It’s something that sadly every single person will go through: loving someone more than they love you.
The track starts off with Venezia’s raspy voice with a beautiful instrumental consisting of what sounds like fingers snapping and a quiet guitar. Venezia’s lyrics are what stick out, as the instrumental takes a back seat in “Important”. Lyrics such as, “It’s raining, it’s pouring, but I’m not important” and “I don’t want to think if you hate me”, shows Venezia’s growing paranoia surrounding the relationship. The souring guitars and piano get louder throughout the chorus, adding a more pop element to the love ballad.
The song is such a beautiful and easy track to listen to, not to mention extremely catchy. After listening to “Important” just a couple of times it’s impossible to not get the chorus and Venezia’s catchy voice out of your head.
Ryan Venezia is a singer-songwriter from New York who has been releasing music since 2018. Venezia has over 100 million Spotify streams and this will only go up. He’s had some notable gigs, such as Electric Zoo in 2018, as well as touring when Venezia was a DJ and producer. It’s truly remarkable to see how much someone’s music can change, and Venezia’s music has blossomed from DJ to making beautiful ballads.
