“Nixon-Manson” by Cosmopolis

Dark and haunting post-punk art rock group, Cosmopolis consists of three core members …Gavin Kendall, Nicholas Platten and David Hussey. This three piece is based around the world in Belgium, Australia and England. This means that sometimes they make music together physically and other times virtually. The songs are recorded in multiple locations and are arranged, mixed and mastered in the cloud.

The new single “Nixon-Manson” takes you through a dark musical odyssey as it rides the crest of the late 60’s cultural wave – hope and possibility giving way to an evil combination of crime, corruption and military might. This song immediately takes you back, you can hear helicopters and someone talking into a megaphone and you instantly get war vibes.

The creepy, mysterious song that is “Nixon-Manson” makes you want to be in a dark room with only red lights on, and drinking whiskey. This song brings out the dark side of music and you can’t help but love it. The way the story is told makes you feel like you in the song and watching the video along with listening to the song enhances that feeling.

Cosmopolis has generated over 100,000 listens on Spotify and there is a reason for such popularity. They are making dark music that the “weirdos” love and the longer the song the better. You can really feel the emotion and the intensity when the song is longer, that energy especially comes alive in “Nixon-Manson”.

They are a group that you definitely don’t want to miss out on. They create the perfect midnight/2am vibes. They make music for the night owls to enjoy, and it is easy to enjoy an amazing group such as Cosmopolis.
