“Sex” by 9 o’clock Nasty

9 o’clock Nasty….a name that you know and love. They are a three piece group from Leicester, UK and have just released their first EP of 2022…it’s been long awaited. “Sex” from 9 o’clock Nasty is exactly what it sounds like. “Now is the time for possibly the world’s most unlikely sex-workers to release songs about jealousy, the endless transactions of relationships and the pure charisma of a man in his meaty prime.”

The group has generated almost 3,000 listeners on Spotify, in the year 2021 they released 8 EPs…that has got to be some sort of record. With the new release of “Sex” and upcoming coming release of and LP in May, people are starting to take notice and 9 o’clock Nasty is continuously giving you what you want.

Heavy bass…..you can’t not love it. “Do Me Too” starts off with an enticing bass beat. It is seems in the world of 2022, more and more people are becoming polyamorous and some people can live in that lifestyle and will be completely happy while other may tend to be unhappy or upset or jealous. “Do Me Too” brings the garage-punk sound onto the theme of jealousy in polyamory. “Whatever you do, (whatever you do), do it, do it to me too.” will be playing in your head over and over. By the time the song is ending, you’ll be singing along.

I know what I can do for you, but what can you do for me? That is a question that you may sometimes ask yourself in a relationship. “What Have You Done For Me Lately?” is a very hard rock, 80s feel song that makes you want to bounce off the walls. The distorted guitar mixed with the bass draws you into the song and the vocals and drums are the cherry on top.

“What Have You Done for Me Lately?” asks the questions that dare not be asked in any healthy relationship. But it isn’t about healthy relationships, it is about swagger and ego and the absence of impulse control. Things 9 o’clock Nasty know all about.

“Indoor Boyfriend” is the last song of the EP and it shows a different side of 9 o’clock nasty. Although it’s not a slow sad song “Indoor Boyfriend” is a psychotic ballad, it is weirdly soothing. As the EP comes to and end, you feel completely satisfied..that is what sex is supposed to do. This is an EP from 9 o’clock Nasty that you don’t want to miss out on.

“Sex. Need it. Love it. Want more.” – 9 o’clock Nasty
