“Hero’s Welcome” by Brendan Bradley

Video games have surpassed being a mere pastime for the youth. Today, they’re a billion-dollar industry that has spawned everything from movies to home decor to even music. Yes, the latter is a genre of music that continues to gain its own fandom year after year with fans of video games showing up and out for their favorite sounds from their favorite games, but also artists that embrace the style on their own like Brendan Bradley and his latest, “Hero’s Welcome” off of his upcoming album, ‘Non-Player Character (Workshop Musical Cast Recording),’ out September 2, 2022.

“Hero’s Welcome” is not a song you would hear on your local Top 40 station and that is okay because it is not meant to sit alongside the likes of The Weeknd or Taylor Swift. Instead, it is meant to flourish in the halls of a convention center as pop culture enthusiasts walk around dressed as everything from Pikachu to Deadpool. It is a song inspired by video games that also has elements of musical theater woven into the mix. So those who are also Broadway nerds will appreciate the homage to shows like ‘Rent’ as well as the larger-than-life vocal moments here and there from Brendan Bradley.

With a kid’s show feel, “Hero’s Welcome” is the type of song that younger fans will latch onto but at the same time, anyone who still finds joy in a joystick will appreciate this Tenacious D meets ‘Yo Gabba Gabba’ moment. This is Brendan Bradley’s third single this year, and all are available on all major music and streaming platforms now.
