“Crime” by Roxercat

The groovy, thoughtful rock band, Roxercat, is back with their new single and music video for “Crime.” The song is the second single from the band’s EP Pearls – available everywhere now. The group is based in Nashville, Tennessee and consists of lead singer Price Jones, guitarist Stan Lassiter, and bassist Bill Francis. The group formed in 2017 and have continued to jam and rock together ever since.

“Crime” highlights Jones’s gift for storytelling and lyricism. The song is soulful and anthemic, tackling themes of falling into systems designed to distract and influence. Jones can showcase how some people have lost their way in the digital age, listening to anyone about how they should feel about what. “You give it all away” repeats throughout the song to emphasize how individually feels lost in a world that wants you to conform.

Jones’s voice has emotion and depth that could revival modern rock artists, showcasing her anger as well as her urgency. The production has wailing electric guitars, keys, and drums that give this playful funk song throughout. It doesn’t mask the message, but instead it highlights it.

The music video of the song features trippy animations and distorted neon colors. The visuals are fun and unique to Roxercat’s sound and branding. Price’s costume is fun and such a great edition to the video. They are able to further their world building and highlight what makes them unique.

The group has an edge and a message that will keep you coming back again and again.
