“Cool Down” by Harry Kappen

Following up his emotional ballad, Dutch multi-instrumentalist Harry Kappen has released his up-tempo rock song “Cool Down,” available everywhere now. His songs have reached many audiences, as Kappen has written for events, other bands, and even television. He has received worldwide recognition, with nominations at the independent Josie Awards based in Nashville, TN and the ISSA Awards in Atlanta, GA.

The song is an anthem for climate change with Kappen singing in the chorus, “let’s cool down / bring back the pace down / while the world is turning faster everyday / it keeps getting hotter / until we boil over / let’s slow down / and cool down.” The track does an excellent job showing what true rock is: songs with a real message to get across.

It feels reminiscent to classics like Billy Joel’s “We Didn’t Start The Fire.” Kappen in his song is trying to both have people cool down emotionally and showcase that we need to work to cool the world down physically. The double meaning is an impressive and clever demonstration of Kappen’s writing skills.
