“Y.S.A.K“ by MJ

Artist and rapper MJ, known for her hard-hitting bars and complex, introspective lyricism, has a new single, “Y.S.A.K.” The track, highlighting a new side from her usual style, showcases MJ’s undeniable rapping ability with her effortless rap verses and flow. The electrifying backdrop adds to the track’s rugged, assertive vibe, making it a unique addition to her discography. 

MJ was born in Redondo Beach, California, and raised in Pensacola, Florida. Currently residing in Houston, Texas, MJ has fused her influences and the different cultures and places she has lived to create her unique sound. Her hard-hitting bars, which seem to have disappeared long ago, evoke old-school rappers. The track’s addicting beat, with its grittiness and head-scratching melody, gives off a 1990s vibe that is impossible to turn off.

2024 has been an exciting year for MJ so far– earlier this year, she released a two-track EP, “MJMTHERAPPER X LOVE SET,” which was R&B infused with rap songs, highlighting a different side of MJ. These songs capture the ups and downs of love with an R&B touch. “Y.S.A.K.” strays from her softer, more delicate sound, as “Y.S.A.K.” proves MJ’s undeniable rapping ability.
