Unless we’re talking about the days when our grandparents just dated whoever was closest, it’s never been easy to find a life partner. Dating seems to have evolved into being one of the hardest things we attempt to do in life, but because of that we have gotten a cascade of great songs dedicated to the trials and tribulations of finding “the one.” That includes the latest, “That Kind Of Guy” from Christen Cooper.
Infectious from the press of play, “That Kind Of Guy” is a perfectly balanced country-pop song that you just can’t help but listen to on repeat. Christen Cooper even does this quick delivery towards the start that gives off big Dolly vibes, which deserves a round of applause. Aside from the charming pop elements, what will be adored about this song is how relatable it is. Christen Cooper just lays it all out on the line, going down a list of the things she’s come across that aren’t so great, and then a laundry list of things she hopes to find in a guy. It reminds me of watching CMT in high school and digging those vibrant tracks from The Chicks.
