Q: You killed the production throughout the whole body of work! What was the inspiration behind “Haunted By You”?
BRADLEY: Honestly, when I first met my wife… I thought she was the greatest person alive (and super hot). She stayed on my mind and I just kept thinking about seeing her again! There’s always that feeling of the other person not really feeling exactly how you’re feeling about them… That’s when I felt I was really “haunted” but her and couldn’t stop thinking about her. Overall, I’m sure it’s a pretty common feeling, so I decided, HEY! I’ll write a fun song about it.
Q: I’m always curious about the artist’s backstory. Was there a pivotal moment when you decided to follow your path as a musician?
BRADLEY: Absolutely! When I was about 12 years old, I got super obsessed with the idea of being in a band. This was back in 1995, which shows my age, haha! I got really obsessed and asked for an electric guitar for my Birthday or Christmas…. Can’t remember which one. But that guitar went everywhere with me. Then later I wanted to learn drums, so I did. And it all just kept going… Singing, writing songs, making beats on MPCs, learning Cubase VST 5 on a PC, and so on and so on. Now it’s been 25 years and a very wild ride.
Q: Who would you most like to collaborate with, if it could be anyone in the world?
BRADLEY: I’d love to hang with Rick Ruben in his studio and just vibe out, have an engineer running the session and create something from thin air. Then do a bunch of mushrooms and wander around… Haha.
Q: Even the greatest writers can battle with creative blocks at times, how do you deal with a lack of inspiration?
BRADLEY: Discipline. It’s a full-on discipline to be able to create anything. I have my daily routine and make time to just create, whether it’s good or bad is not really up to me. Without discipline, there are no records, no finished songs, and no mixed and mastered recordings on Spotify. Just ideas, hopes, and a ton of internal torture.
Q: In your own words, how would you describe the music that you typically create?
BRADLEY: Fun, personal, and very expressive. It’s honestly a true expression of myself… I write, perform, produce, mix, and master my songs because I’ve spent the majority of my life learning these skills. I just want to communicate with people through music.
Q: What would you like to tell your supporters out there?
BRADLEY: My supporters are amazing. Every single person that streams, shares, likes, adds to their playlist…. Music is just a way to communicate with you all and make you feel something. I’m never looking to resonate with “everyone”, just the people that get it. I love that.
