“FAMILY” by yespls

LOS ANGELES, CA – Caleb Laven, engineer on Frank Ocean’s “Blonde” and “Endless” and producer/creative mentor to indie rock band Joy Again, steps forward with a debut solo project “FAMILY” under the name yespls — available on all major DSPs today.

Known for his raw sonic textures, striking vocal arrangements, and emotionally charged production style, Caleb Laven has quietly become a sought-after collaborator in pop, hip-hop, alternative, and experimental music. His fingerprints appear across some of the most influential releases of the last decade, including work on:

  • Travis Scott – “UTOPIA” (vocal production / engineering / mixing)
  • Halsey – “The Great Impersonator” (vocal producer)
  • SZA – “Lana” (mixing)
  • Vince Staples – “Dark Times” (vocal producer / production)
  • Yung Lean & Bladee – “Psykos” (vocal producer)
  • Bakar – “Good News” (writer / producer)
  • Frank Ocean – “Blonde”, “Endless” and following singles (engineer / mixer / production)

In 2025, Laven also served as executive producer on godly the ruler’s debut album “The Subtle Art of Getting By” (Pack. Records).

After spending two years in São Paulo, Brazil, Laven has been living in Los Angeles, with a new vision for his work and the desire to express something more personal. yespls captures the emotional interiority that has quietly driven his years of collaboration — music that mirrors curiosity, complexity, and the search for inner expression.

“I think my music says that I believe in the power of art and expression, and that I’m trying to express myself in the rawest ways possible.”

Laven built his career in music from the ground up, finding success through early collaborations with artists like Rostam Batmanglij, Angel Haze, Bear in Heaven, and others. In 2014, he became producer and creative mentor for Philadelphia indie band Joy Again, whose track “Looking Out For You” went platinum in 2022 after viral success on TikTok. In 2015, Laven started working with Frank Ocean as an engineer on the critically acclaimed, platinum album “Blonde,” its accompanying visual album “Endless,” and the releases that followed.

With yespls, Laven turns his experience inward — crafting a project that feels intimate, unfiltered and emotionally expressive.
