“Blue“ by Blueprint Tokyo

Indie duo Blueprint Tokyo (Kevin Dawson and Andrew Hale) created a nostalgic yet modern sound that will captivate music enthusiasts of all generations. Their latest EP, ‘Blue,’ is a dreamy, psychedelic 90s-esque body of art. Comprising five diverse, lyrically driven, hazy tracks, ‘Blue’ is the perfect soundtrack for your next long drive. The EP delves into topics such as technology, growth, and modern society, all set against a unique sonic backdrop.

Blueprint Tokyo, a dynamic two-person band, exudes a powerful, rhythmic sound that showcases their innate talent. “Odysseus” kicks off with a hard-rock energy, while “Only Hearts” delves into a darker, deep-toned vibe. The melancholic keys and raspy, emotive vocals add a heartfelt element to the track, which is guaranteed to engage the listener from start to finish.

Blueprint Tokyo’s music is a distinctive blend of post-punk, emo, and classic rock, a fusion that sets them apart. Their sound is reminiscent of emo bands like Brand New, with pop-punk elements from bands such as Jimmy Eat World, yet the group created their own unique sound.

“Closed Door Cinema” has a much more early 90s indie rock vibe, while “Mission Control” sounds like it belongs straight out of the 90s grunge scene. The final track on the EP, “Transfer,” features screamlike vocals with a guitar-heavy instrumental. The powerful atmosphere that the song displays is the ideal conclusion to the EP.

‘Blue” is available now on all major music streaming platforms.
