Mohini is a singer/songwriter based out of the United Kingdom. After an almost 2 year hiatus, she’s back and better than ever with her newest release “Together Again”. Powerful vocals float gracefully over a versatile instrumental that grabs your attention and never lets go. Whether it’s the gentle guitar lines or the huge synthesizers the vocals felt full and supported through every last syllable.
Sounding like something off the stage of a music festival, “Together Again” does a fantastic job blending chaotic electronics and singsongy, beautiful vocals. Sometimes leaning into the pop elements, while at others sounding like it could have been produced by Marshmello. I loved how the energy would ebb and flow between the different moods without ever losing the core vibe set initially. Despite being loud, busy, and high-energy the song kept all of the more delicate elements as well.
One of the first elements to stand out was the duality of the vocals. Vulnerable and expressive, their delicate message is contrasted only by Mohini’s passionate performance. Easily turning the chorus of the song into a harrowing anthem. All while still retaining the delicacy and daintiness that defines their timbre. The cool drum kits give everything a modern feel without getting in the way of the gentle energy. Complementing harmonies ring out in the synth pads giving the song structure and adding colors to the texture. This ever-expanding support gives vocals space
