A school bell rings out at the start of the song, setting the scene for the petty, high school style drama that is to follow. Vocal audio clips move between your ears like you’re in the middle of the conversation, offering vapid gossip like “I hate her so much.” Grungy guitars and unrelenting drums hit the song hard, providing a riveting sonic landscape for the impassioned vocals to shine. Lines like “when I see you I run” and “why are you so jealous? Why are you so hateful? I hate you” are dramatic and somewhat comedic, because it’s just so reminiscent of the silly drama that unfounded rumors can create. 

The chorus plays with tempo in a satisfying way, breaking down to a 6/4 groove to surprise the listener and add tension to the track.
