David Baron and Fiona Glenn’s hypnotic and ethereal track “Crossover” is perfect for lovers of indie pop, dream pop, and any fans of smooth, silky vocals. Fiona Glenn’s velvety voice beautifully intertwines with the heavenly instrumental, consisting of delicate guitars and drums. At only 16, Glenn’s mature and elegant voice takes the listener on a journey on “Crossover”, which according to Baron and Glenn, is about a young couple that gets overwhelmed by city life and decides to go on a road trip one night. The lyrics along with Baron’s flawless production takes listeners on their magical road trip with them.
The track begins with Baron’s exquisite instrumental: guitars playing off each other and an atmospheric and almost eerie soundscape. Almost right away, Glenn’s airy voice comes in, melting away any worries and anxieties that listeners come in with, taking them into a dreamy song to vibe to in full peace.
“Crossover” has a very impressive team, with lyrics written by Welsh singer-songwriter Donna Lewis (I Love You Always and Forever) as well as the music being composed by David Baron, who’s worked with popular musicians such as Lenny Kravitz, The Lumineers, Jade Bird, and Bat For Lashes. The song is mastered by Chris Athens who has worked with The Beastie Boys, Drake, Coldplay, as well as on Childish Gambino’s “This Is America”.
Fiona Glenn is truly a gem, a rising star who at just 16 years old has an impressive and beautiful song under her belt. It wouldn’t be surprising at all to see her blow up this year!
