Q: “WHEREVER U GO” is an indie-pop lover’s dream! The beat is so catchy and your vocals are mesmerizing. What did you enjoy most about making this track?
NOAH RICHARDSON: Honestly, the relief that it gave me. I do this very toxic thing of holding my self-worth in my songwriting and when this one came out, I just felt such a release. Whew. I can still do this, okay great.
Q: From the lyrics, I believe “WHEREVER U GO” is a song about having to move on. Did any real-life events inspire you to write “WHEREVER U GO”?
NOAH: Over the last year I have definitely been experiencing lots of changes and hardships. I’ve lost friends, I’ve lost family members, faced some major health issues and a lot of it I wasn’t really able to open up about or kind of take a second and process. A lot of the time I just kinda shoved it all back inside and put a brave face on since it was the only choice I felt I had. That feeling of kinda dancing through the ashes as the whole world burns down around you is what inspires this.

Q: What has been one of the highlights of your music career so far?
NOAH: I’ve been blessed with many great experiences on this musical journey, one of my favorites being playing PSU’s THON. I just felt complete joy up on that stage in front of all those people, great cause and great time.
Q: Your music stands out from other indie and dream pop tracks; if you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be?
NOAH: I would love to get in a room with Remi Wolf and her producer and just see her process. She just doesn’t seem to miss on a song and I love her music.
Q: How is the music industry in Philadelphia?
NOAH: Like our sports teams, people are passionate about their music as well. There is talent in every nook and cranny of this place and I’m blessed to be a part of it.
Q: Walk me through your writing and production process in making “WHEREVER U GO”
NOAH: I remember hearing Pharrell talk about writing from a feeling, instead of trying to chase something. So that’s kinda where I went. I kinda had this feeling in my guts that’s been churning for months and months and months and needed the songwriting gods to kinda give me some relief. I came across this chord progression that really spoke to me and that feeling, so I tracked it, started mumbling some words for it and subconsciously started unraveling this little story.
Q: What would you like to say to your fans out there?
NOAH: Just thank you. It’s a complete privilege to have people moved and relating to your music and emotions that you feel as well. Music is a magical language and we all speak it, I’m so happy we share in that. Thank you.
Q: What’s next for you?
NOAH: Big things to come soon… I promise. I’ve been working so incredibly hard for you guys and I can’t wait for you to see what’s next.
